Nikon ViewNX2 Update
- support for the new Nikon 1 V1 and J1 Raw
- GPS log file for the AW100 camera
- Coolpix P7100 Raw
- Support for the Nikon 1 V1, Nikon 1 J1, COOLPIX P7100, COOLPIX AW100/AW100s have been added.
- Support for the Smart Photo Selector and Motion Snapshot functions built into the Nikon 1 V1 and Nikon 1 J1 has been added.
- All images captured in Smart Photo Selector mode, or just the “best shot” in an SPS series, can be displayed.
- Playback similar to that of camera playback is possible for Motion Snapshot files.
- Motion Snapshot files can be uploaded to my Picturetown.
- An “exclude” option has been added to ratings.
- Movie ratings can now be changed. However, ratings cannot be applied to movies that were not originally rated.
- When Highlight Protection was applied to RAW images captured with the P7000, areas around the portion to which this function was applied became dark. This issue has been resolved.
- An issue that prevented the correct display of flash compensation value for images captured with the D3100 using the SB-900 has been resolved.
- When the "Auto Lateral Color Aberration function" was applied to some RAW images, gray edges were displayed in some portions of the subject. This issue has been resolved.
- An issue that caused JPEG images edited or saved with ViewNX 2 to be saved at a high compression ratio has been resolved.
- Support for transferring the following files has been added to Nikon Transfer 2.
- Files recorded using the Smart Photo Selector function
- Files recorded using the Motion Snapshot function
- GPS log files recorded with the AW100/AW100s
- MPO (3D) files
- An “exclude” option has been added to Nikon Transfer 2 ratings.
- An "Always use ratings applied on original files (supported camera only)" check box has been added to the Nikon Transfer 2 Preferences panel.
- Movie ratings can now be changed with transfer using Nikon Transfer 2. However, ratings cannot be applied to movies that were not originally rated.
- The "Start Transfer" button in the Nikon Transfer 2 window is now larger.
- An issue that prevented Nikon Transfer 2 recognition of a memory card inserted in slot 2 when the D7000 was connected to the computer has been resolved.
- When the Pictures Library was viewed with ViewNX 2 under Windows 7, images saved to the folder sometimes were not displayed in the image view area. This issue has been resolved.
- When "Open With" was selected for a RAW image displayed in ViewNX 2 "Image Viewer" mode, and the image was opened in Photoshop Camera Raw, the Image Viewer window was grayed out and a message indicating that the file was of an unsupported type was displayed. This issue has been resolved.
- In some rare cases, when ViewNX 2 was launched on a system with a shortcut to an active server page, an Internet connection error was displayed. This issue has been resolved.
- When unique characters were entered in XMP/IPTC fields in the Polish version of Nikon Transfer 2 (Windows), the text string entered was deleted and only the unique characters remained. This issue has been resolved.
- Restrictions on the number of movies and still images that can be added to the storyboard in Nikon Movie Editor, as well as restrictions on total length, have been reduced. (With the modification, 10 movies, or a total of 30 movies and still images, can be added. Total length has been increased to 60 minutes.)
- The "Slide" (Up, Down, Left, Right) transition effect in Nikon Movie Editor has been changed to "Blinds" (Up, Down, Left, Right) effect.
Additional modifications to the Macintosh version
- Mac OS X version 10.4 is no longer supported. An issue that caused altitude in GPS data with GPX log matching to be displayed as a negative value has been resolved.
- Files exceeding 2 GB in size can now be transferred with Nikon Transfer 2 under Mac OS X version 10.5.8.
