Hoodman Hoodwipes - Wet/Dry Lenses Cleaning Technology

News in from the technical department – the new Hoodman Lens Cleanse cleaners are the best in-field solution for all sorts of optical glass surfaces.

Ernest conducted a course in lens cleaning at this morning’s sales conference and we watched as the Lens Cleanse removed the two greasiest fingerprints ever put on a front element.

The kit consists of a sealed packet with wet wipe and dry wipe. The former is soft material impregnated with organic plant enzymes and has enough cleaner to cope with 4 or 5 lenses – this is not a towelette that evaporates as soon as you take it out. The dry towelette is extremely soft and has the property of wicking up the grunge that the enzymes have removed from the glass and then going silky smooth as a polish. This is a cleaning system that will not scratch and will not leave residue.

Final note: obviously if you are in the habit of dipping the front of your lens into a full Hoover bag or a tub of carborundum grit, it is advisable to blow and brush this hard material off before you wet clean. Common sense should prevail – remember this is photography, not federal parliament.

These wipes are available right now at $ 2.95 each or slightly cheaper if you buy a handful of them. Keep one in your camera bag – they have the EIC seal of approval.
