Contains 5% more....
Well, that’s what I thought it meant when the new Canon Powershot S100 came onto the floor. I remembered the Canon Powershot S95 and I figured they just put 5% more Canon-ness inside it. Turns out I was wrong.
It’s like... contains 25% more megapixels, double the ISO speed, 190%more zoom, and 25% faster shutter speed. This is a whole ’nuther camera entirely.
It is the same physical size as the Powershot S95 but Canon has improved the body casting to provide a grip that sticks it to the hand. The front adjustment ring is silky smooth, and the overall weight and size makes it perfect for pockets. It is fitted with GPS to tag your photos. The flash is automatic – popping up or down as required. Macro is even closer than before.
This one seriously good pocket camera – Ken Rockwell will undoubtedly rave over it, though he does tend to rave about a number of things. Never mind – he may well be justified with equipment this good.
The Canon Powershot S100 is going to be sought after so for goodness sake come on down and seek.
