Yin & Yang - Matt Dragun & Nic Montagu

NIC MONTAGU AND THE ART OF TROUBLEMAKING

Now that should get his attention....and while we are at it, yours. Before you can look away, consider getting yourself a copy of the book he has made showing the images that were created for the exhibition “Eight Paths One Journey”.

He has incorporated 100 images to let us see and feel some of the emotions of nine yoga practitioners – people who were able to let us learn about some of their personal journeys through studio photography sessions.

Nic has chosen some unique visual pathways himself – lith printing being one of them – and the images from the series could in many cases not really be seen in any other way. Or perhaps they could....other pathways? Those of our readers who remember lith can understand where troublemaking comes in. At least he had the good common sense to use medium format film as his initial capture choice.

The big picture exhibition has been seen in three locations in Western Australia over the past three years. As the concept is truly timeless it might well be shown to public acclaim for decades.

In any case, please internet on over to eightpathsonejourney.com and read about the exhibition – and perhaps treat yourself to an ebook ( $ 12.95) or a realbook ($ 59.95). Nic will benefit and so will you.
